Western Algarve
To the West of Faro the region is quite different the hills fall away, pine forests and large expanses of green fields appear with cattle and the site of windmills, however most of this is being used up for golf courses and at the time of writing I think there are 35, all but two owned by the same person.
Lagos is the main centre with tourist towns and fishing villages along the coast to Cape St Vincent.
