 Lagos is one of my favourite areas; it is situated in the Western region of the Algarve and offers some of best beaches for all kinds of water sports, the beaches are approx 20 minutes walk from the town centre. The town has a very interesting historic past with ancient buildings combined with a new marina. Lagos also offers plenty of nightlife with numerous restaurants and bars.
The 400+ berth Marina has Anchor and Blue flag awards, there are bars, restaurants and a variety of shops were you can relax and maybe dream of choosing a boat.
The train station is also near the marina, the bus station is also close.
Markets, everyone! well most enjoy a stroll around a market when on holiday and Lagos has a few one is the local market on Saturday mornings near the bus station, offering fresh fruit and vegetables, olives, almonds, figs in fact it's a very popular market and in expensive.
The fish market operates every day.
Lagos is well situated and from in front of the lighthouse you will be able to enjoy some excellent views towards the east and west regions of the Algarve.
